Payroll Specialist

Zennify is looking for a qualified candidate to join their team as a Payroll Specialist! The Payroll Specialist position is a part time position and estimated at 20 hours per month. The position will be on-site at our Meridian location twice monthly during payroll processing. This person will be a member of the HR team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company's payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in data entry of Payroll processing. Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform payroll department operations
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Where applicable, execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
  • Work with payroll processing company to ensure accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc)
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Where/when applicable, process manual check(s).
  • Load import files received from HR (benefits, 401k, etc.)
  • Research and email appropriate audience of file issues
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries
  • Provide advice on best practices surrounding payroll
  • Assess current payroll software, Paylocity to ensure that we are working with the best solution.


Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • CPP preferred but not required
  • 4-6 years experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems, such as Paylocity, e-Time, Kronos, ADP PCPW, Payforce, etc.
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
